Q: Are there currently any incentives paid by Government to employers for employing school-leavers or 'first jobbers'?

There may be such incentives on a local basis.  Business Link London would not get involved in this directly, but would refer to the Learning Skills Council, who could tell you what, if any, incentives were available. Go to www.lsc.gov.uk and then click through to your local area to make contact.

There are also over 200 Apprenticeships available across more than 80 industry sectors. You can call 0800 015 0400 for information on employing an apprentice. Alternatively, visit www.apprenticeships.org.uk.
