Remote IT support
May 20 2008
Managing IT and communications is a challenge for all small business owners - three quarters of you spend up to nine hours every week maintaining systems. That's an entire day when you aren't serving customers, winning new business or developing staff.
Customers who use services, such as BT Business IT Manager, can tackle problems remotely through a broadband connection - where the adviser can literally take over your desktop. The customer can simply pick up the phone and dial the dedicated number for help and support from experts when they need it. Some services even offer a named contact or dedicated team. You can contact them whether it's three in the afternoon or three in the morning.
Meanwhile, other packages can offer you onsite support and visits. So if the remote service doesn't resolve the issue engineers can come to a customer's premises. There are even packages available that offer a proactive monitoring service for your data systems, which can often spot issues with the network or with system performance before you or your customers even know they exist.
