Wireless and its benefits
Nov 19 2007
Wireless is being talked about a lot, both for businesses and consumers, but it has a huge range of benefits to offer.
In the office, a wireless network is a great way to connect a number of computers without having a large number of cables across the floor and also means that you can easily share access to printers and other devices. Another benefit of a wireless network is that it allows you to move around the office without having to plug in or change settings on your computer.
This is also true of wireless out of the office, and allows you to connect to the internet whenever you are in a wireless hotspot – whether using a laptop or the latest smartphone. This enables you to use email or telephone (via wireless Voice over Internet Protocol) to stay in touch with customers and colleagues even when you’re away from your desk, reducing downtime as a result of travel, reducing costs and increasing productivity.
