Small business excellence awards launched

May 13 2008

Entries are now being accepted for the UK Small Business Excellence Award 2008, intended to recognise innovative technology.

The award will 'seek out and reward' small businesses who can demonstrate how they have used innovative technology to improve customer experience.

It is sponsored by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), the Daily Express and technology company Dell.

Managing director of the BCC John Dunsmure says that the group is 'delighted to be backing this award' and added that using the right technology is 'crucial' for businesses who want to 'gain an edge over the competition'.

The UK winner will receive £15,000 in Dell products and services as well as a ten-year membership of an accredited Chamber of Commerce and time with Dell's business experts.

They will also be entered into the global award.

Entrants must have 100 employees or fewer and have seen a 'significant change' or developed a 'competitive advantage' through the use of technology.

The closing date for entries is 31 May, click here to enter the Small Business Excellence Award 2008.

The BCC is a non-political organisation which is owned and directed by its members and acts as a voice piece to represent its members' needs to government and policymakers.
