Refining broadband connection may improve speed for SMEs

Businesses may be able to enhance their broadband speed through undertaking a series of simple checks, claim IT experts.
Andrew Ferguson, editor of Thinkbroadband.com, the independent broadband news and information site, says: 'Some companies may even be able to get better, more reliable access for little money and with a small amount of help.'
He says that SMEs can do this by checking which product they were using and finding out whether speed upgrades are available.
'Tidying up' telephone wiring could also help to ensure broadband speeds were improved.
Mr Ferguson also says that broadband technology has benefited SMEs by making it easier to communicate with customers and other businesses.
According to the BSG, the UK has over 13 million broadband connections.
Plans for next generation had been in debate since April 2007, when the Broadband Stakeholder Group (BSG) unveiled plans to launch super-fast broadband. According to reports, it would offer speeds of up to 100Mbps.
