BFA announces Franchisors of the Year

Snap-on-Tools, Domino's Pizza and Molly Maid came out top in this year's British Franchise Association (BFA) Franchisor of the Year Awards.

Sponsored by Express Newspapers and HSBC Bank, the awards look for “individual excellence” in a sector that the BFA notes is now worth some £10 billion a year.

Automotive diagnostic equipment firm Snap-on-Tools took home the coveted Gold Award, having established a huge lead over its nearest competitor and enjoying a rise in sales of diagnostic products of £2 million in just one year.

‘This company deserves recognition for its outstanding achievements and demonstrates how the franchising model can be used effectively to overcome complex marketing challenges,’ says BFA director general Brian Smart.

Domino’s Pizza scooped the Silver Award and was praised for its efforts in helping franchisees meet customer demand in a competitive environment.

Home cleaning agency Molly Maid claimed the Bronze Award, and was marked out for its many customer-focused initiatives.

Meanwhile, the shortlist for the BFA Franchisee of the Year Awards 2007 has been released. Among the nominees are Belvoir Lettings franchisee Terry Lucking, McDonald’s franchisee Atul Pathak and Oscar Pet Foods franchisees Cliff and Tracy Marsh.
