Milk company joins PLUS

National Milk Records (NMR), a holding company that supplies software to the dairy industry, has listed on PLUS Markets, placing 7.3 million shares at 43p each. The float valued NMR at £3.2 million.

Chippenham, Wiltshire-based NMR supplies information about the performance of individual cows in terms of milk quality, yield and fertility. Founded in 1997, it now owns the records of some 95 million animals and has completed 100 million individual recording visits.

NMR owns two subsidiaries: laboratory analysis company National Milk Laboratories and radio frequency technology business Smartstock.

It generated a turnover of £5.7 million and a £282,000 operating profit for the six months ended September 2006.

St Helen’s Capital was corporate adviser to the listing.
