Having a website is very important for all types of business, according to Technology Means Business.

Dr Adam Le Gresley, head of operations at Technology Means Business, says that a web presence is 'very important', even just for supplying general information about how to find the company.

Research shows that people looking for a particular service or business will often start with a search engine, says Le Gresley.

'If your company is not listed or doesn't have a website, it is likely that a new non-referred customer will choose the next best provider they find,' he adds.

According to research from the Interactive Media in Retail Group, 97 per cent of the UK's online population has used the internet to make a purchase and online shopping has grown by 40 per cent in the last two years.

Technology Means Business is the industry standard accreditation for those providing ICT advice to small and medium-sized enterprises.
