Microsoft has joined forces with Mastercard Worldwise, FedEx Corporate Services and Bank of America to offer a tool to help entrepreneurs start up their own business.

The company has made improvements to the Microsoft Startup Center, an online guide offering advice and resources designed to aid businesses in the early stages. Startup Center is an extension of Microsoft's Small Business Center website, and is targeted at those who have a business idea but need more support.

'With these additional resources, visitors to StartupCenter.com not only learn how to launch their own business, but are immediately equipped with real-world tools to help them succeed,' says Microsoft's Cindy Bates.

'By combining extensive knowledge from four companies that have an established commitment to the small-business community, we are creating a comprehensive experience on the web for new small businesses.'

Mastercard Worldwide's Bruno Perreault adds: 'MasterCard is pleased to be the small-business payment card brand on the Startup Center while also providing Startup Center users with key business resources that enable entrepreneurs to focus on getting their business started.'
