Q: I signed a licence agreement with a franchosor. The company claimed to be a member of the BFA. The operating manual contained only details of customers needs. I'm horror struck to find that the BFA unaware of the company and that the manual is full of different figures than agreed. I feel I’ve been duped! Are there associations out there to help?

It sounds like you could have a case of misrepresentation against the licensor/franchisor if they have told you that they are a BFA member and they're not.

Realistically you need some good professional advice at this stage. You should inform the BFA in the first instance and then approach one of the BFA affiliated solicitors for an initial review of your case. Make sure that you ask for a fee indication in advance of sanctioning any work on your behalf.
