While most small businesses start up with capital from the owners themselves, and often a bank loan as well, there are a number of other sources of finance. These tend to focus on a particular kind of business, a sector or a region. Your chances of successfully applying for this type of financial support will depend largely on how well your business or project fits the profile of a particular funding scheme.
