Disabled entrepreneurs 'Ready to Start'

A new scheme has been launched to provide valuable support to disabled people starting their own small firms.

The Ready to Start scheme hopes to find budding entrepreneurs who need help formulating business plans and is the idea of disabled charity Leonard Cheshire, supported by Barclays Bank.

Explaining the scheme, the Kendal coordinator of the scheme Sarah Mitchell told the Westmoreland Gazette: 'I'd like to encourage any local disabled people who are would-be entrepreneurs to get in touch.

'Leonard Cheshire is experienced in providing support, training and employment advice to disabled people and is delighted to be working together with Barclays to proactively remove the barriers that disabled people face when going into employment.'

The scheme aims to assist over 600 entrepreneurs in 27 towns and cities in England and Wales.
