Women in work are taking more responsibility for household finances than men
Working women are taking on more financial responsibilities in UK households, with 71 per cent carrying out general household budgeting on a daily basis, compared to 59 per cent of men in employment.
Some 72 per cent of women in work ensure that household bills are paid, according to a survey of 2,010 UK adults by Opinium Research for protection specialist Bright Grey.
Women are also more likely to raise discussions in the home concerning money, with 61 per cent taking the initiative.
The survey reveals that 46 per cent of females consider themselves the main earners in their family.
