UK SMEs 'more open to green IT'
Sep 16 2008
Green IT was voted as a top priority by 37 per cent of the British companies questioned by industry association CompTIA.
In addition, the group reports that 65 per cent of UK SMEs say they are 'constantly' taking account of new technologies, compared to 51 per cent of such firms in the US and 39 per cent in Canada.
Technology is seen as a vital way to stay ahead of the competition by more than half of UK businesses.
Matthew Poyiadgi, CompTIA European vice-president, says the challenge for small business owners is identifying which emerging technologies will be successful.
'Choosing which horse to back is considerably easier if you have a talented pool of staff providing you with good, up-to-date information,' he adds.
The World Wildlife Fund agrees that technology can help businesses save money while helping the environment, advising small firms to choose video conferencing solutions over airline travel.
