Consultant praises unifying VoIP

For example, such a service can offer a single external telephone number and the ability to transfer calls between a group of disparate homeworkers, comments Adrian Walmsley, manager of the BCS Engineering and Technology Forum.
This service also comes at a 'tiny fraction' of the cost associated with a traditional office set-up because it enables staff to be based in different locations, he adds.
Walmsley also predicts more SMEs will turn to VoIP as the credit crunch progresses because of the reduced prices associated with getting phone services over the internet rather than through telephone lines.
Research published by T-Mobile in April showed 42 per cent of small businesses think they pay too much for telephone services and 65 per cent are without the means to control the cost of international calls.
