Website offers businesses new travel networking opportunities
Feb 22 2008
A new website has been launched to increase networking opportunities for business travellers.
Whosintown.net has been established by three London-based businessmen who were 'frustrated' at the time that was often wasted on business trips.
Travellers log their travel plans onto the website for free and contacts in the area are told about their visit.
Users can track the plans of one person they particularly want to meet or widen the search to people within a certain industry or sector.
Small businesses can use the site to meet executives from larger companies, potentially making lucrative business deals.
Holiday Taxis chief executive Paul Stanyer, one of the site's founders, says business travellers 'can unwittingly be sharing the same planes, passing through the same airports and sitting in the same hotels with other people with whom they could be doing business', reports travelmole.com.
The site says Stanyer hopes the service will help create more efficient business travel: enabling executives to have more time with their families while saving money, improving the deals they make and even cutting down on transport pollution.
