Broadband should be utilised by businesses

Aug 13 2007

Using broadband to its full potential is of great benefit to small businesses, an IT services firm claims.

Small Business Computing argues that companies should take full advantage of the ability to transfer 'vast amounts of data' very quickly and relatively cheaply.

Although some 86 per cent of small businesses with less than 50 employees have a broadband connection, Brett Marino at Small Business Computing believes there is still room for better broadband usage.

Mr Marino says: 'A broadband connection will, under normal circumstances, always benefit a small business, even with just two or three employees.'

He continues: 'The question most small businesses need to ask themselves is what is the cost of not having broadband and how is that affecting their business.'

In an effort to save SMEs money the financial website fairinvestment.co.uk has launched an energy calculator that aims to help companies reduce their bills and the amount of energy they use.
