Despite the importance of electronic data, our research shows only 11 per cent of smaller companies see data backup as a priority. What normally happens is that it becomes a priority after something has gone wrong.
There are lots of ways to back up your data. Traditionally, using tape and CD were the most popular, but these often remain on site and rely on staff to initiate the process. This can result in less regular backups than necessary. The latest backup services, such as BT PC Backup, run over broadband and allow users to automate their processes and easily store the latest copies of their data remotely.
Using these services means that backup is never forgotten and that data is protected and can be retrieved from any location should a problem occur.
