Q: I'm looking to set up a craft/gift gallery and shop of designer made pieces. I'm having difficulty sourcing market information about this sector. Any suggestions?

There is a plethora of information on the internet. Start by researching relevant trade associations – The British Jewellery, Giftware and Finishing Federation has a website for the Giftware part of their association, which has a lot of useful information. Visit http://www.ga-uk.org/

You can also try putting the names of the products you wish to sell into the search engine first; this will help you find potential suppliers and competitors.

For more information specific to setting up a business in the craft and gift industry, there is a section on the Business Link London website, click here to visit it.
