Q: I am a decorator and would like to teach my trade to others, but don't know how to go about it.

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to offer decorating lessons to householders who might want to do their own. There may be a market out there for people who would like to learn all the trade tips and secrets which you know. Perhaps you could sell a day of your time to supervise a D-I-Yer? Unfortunately, to find out whether there is a market or not would mean spending some money and putting in some effort. If there is a local give away magazine or newspaper, you might be able to get some editorial coverage by producing a simple press release announcing the launch of your tuition service. You could also try producing a simple flyer and deliver it door-to-door in areas where there are keen home buyers who can't afford to get professional decorators in.
