UK needs to help start-ups
Nov 21 2008
The country needs to work collectively to help people with good ideas to start up their own business.
A spokesperson for the Centre for Equality and Diversity (CED) says the UK 'really needs to find ways' to help people who have business ideas.
He says entrepreneurs should be aided in putting these into practice and increasing productivity.
'There is an opportunity there, however, for us to work collectively on it,' the representative adds.
He says the gap between the rich and the poor in Britain is widening and tactics like these need to be implemented if the country is to narrow it.
A recent survey from the National Social Marketing Centre and University College London found 69 per cent of people think the UK's wealth gap should be reduced.
The spokesperson from the CED says the credit crunch is an ideal time for people to cooperate, as they are all affected by the current economic situation.
'It may bring people together, rather than highlight the differences between us,' he adds.
