BCC start-up guide launched

Jun 03 2008

The British Chamber of Commerce (BCC) has developed a guide for entrepreneurs wanting to start their own businesses.

Common challenges experienced by start-up enterprises such as spending money where it is not needed and buying inappropriate equipment will be addressed in the guide.

In addition, three free years of RBS business banking will be included in the Business Start-up Pack, as well as legal advice and telecommunications offers.

Managing director of the BCC John Dunsmure says that while entrepreneurship needs to be encouraged, start-ups also need practical support.

He comments: 'The BCC intends to use its knowledge, influence, contacts and network to make a major difference to the UK's start-up businesses.'

According to Rachel Bridge in the Sunday Times, it is possible to establish a new business in difficult economic times as long as the product is appropriate for the market and the start-up has support from experts.
