Champions to choose FSB prize
Dec 19 2006
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has opted for a novel approach to prize-giving for its British Small Business Champions competition. Entrants are asked to suggest the ideal prize that would benefit them and the winning business will be given £10,000 to spend as they specified.
Suggestions from entrants so far include office equipment; marketing expertise and solar panels, but the majority focus on something that would recognise the efforts of their staff including weekends away and team-building trips.
In addition, the winning business will have a donation of £5,000 made to the charity of its choice and receive £20,000 of advertising in the FSB's magazine Business Network.
The FSB is inviting entries from thriving, established businesses, trading for more than five years with up to 50 employees - sole traders included. UK SMEs have until 31 January 2007 to apply.
Regional judging will take place in February and the winners will be announced at awards ceremonies during March and April. The regional winners go forward for final, national judging next June.
