Top franchisees wanted

Apr 13 2006

The British Franchise Association is calling for entrants for the Franchisee of the Year Awards 2006, which look to recognise and reward the UK’s best-performing franchisees, with the winner to pick up the top prize of £5,000.

The theme for this year’s awards, backed by HSBC Bank and Express Newspapers, is ‘Success Through Support’. It focuses on the relationship between franchisor and franchisee that offers help when needed but allows and rewards innovation and ‘personal excellence’.

‘The finalists of these prestigious awards are ambassadors for the franchising industry and are an inspiration to anyone else who is thinking of starting up their own franchise,’ comments Yvette Taylor, Franchise Advertising Manager at Express Newspapers.

A glittering black tie event at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham on Thursday 5 October awaits the top franchisees. The overall winner scoops a very handy £5,000 while two runners-up take home a respectable £3,000 and £2,000 respectively.

To enter, applicants have to demonstrate in no more than a thousand words how they have achieved commercial success by following a proven business formula. Entry forms are available by post from the BFA, Thames View, Newtown Road, Henley on Thames, Oxon RG9 1HG, or online from the Members section of the BFA website www.british-franchise.org.uk. The closing date for entries is Friday 23 June.
