Finalists in 2005 BFA Franchisee of the Year Awards are announced

The Franchisee of the Year, sponsored by HSBC and Express Newspapers, is an annual event organised by the British Franchise Association (BFA) to recognise outstanding achievements by franchisees in the UK. This year's finalists have now been announced and they will be hoping that luck will be on their side over the next two months as the shortlist is whittled down to one overall winner.


The winner of the awards will be annouced at the Franchisee of the Year Awards ceremony taking place at the National Motorcycle Museum on Thursday, 6th October. The winning franchisee will receive £5,000 together with a commemorative trophy and the title 'Franchisee of the Year'.


The finalists in the 2005 BFA Franchisee of the Year Awards competition are as follows:

  • Countrywide Grounds Maintenance franchisees John Passfield and Roy Sharpe (franchisees for Morley, Derbyshire)

  • Expense Reduction Analysts franchisee Tony Wilcock (franchisee for Cheltenham, Gloucestershire)

  • Jo Jingles franchisee Karen Welsh (franchisee for Lisburn, Northern Ireland)

  • Mitchells & Butlers franchisee Jon Bassett (franchisee for Cardiff)

  • Molly Maid franchisee Simone Berisford-Ince (franchisee for Knutsford, Cheshire)

  • Rainbow International franchisees Andy and Carol West (Rugeley, Staffordshire)

  • Snap-on Tools franchisee Peter Harris (Rowlands Castle, near Portsmouth)

  • Urban Planters franchisees Andrew, Shiela and Thomas Pelfreyman (Matlock, Derbyshire)

  • Wiltshire Farm Food franchisee Adam Michallat-Cox (Portbury, Bristol)
