Last chance to enter small business awards

If you want your business to be noticed, you may want to enter the Small is Beautiful Awards 2004. But you need to be quick, as the deadline is 16 January.
The awards, now in their second year, aim to recognise the country’s “most impressive” small businesses in 9 separate categories, each with a different set of prizes.
For example, if you fancy winning a corporate hospitality box at a major sporting event including travel, food and drinks, you should have a go at the Best Customer Service Award.
Among the other categories there will be prizes for Most Enterprising Small Business, Best Marketing Campaign, Best Family Business and Best Demonstration of Business Ethics. The winner of one of the categories will eventually be crowned Small Business Person of the Year and will receive free mobile communications for a year.
Garry Parker of the Forum of Private Business, which is sponsoring the awards, offers inspiring words to small businesses who want to succeed: “Don’t quit when the going gets tough… stick with your vision and don’t give up. Don’t expect others to find solutions for you. Find them yourself and drive your business. In short, take control and be hands-on.”
The awards are free to enter and are open to any business with fewer than 50 employees. In each category 4 finalists will be shortlisted and finalists will be informed by 6 February 2004 and will be invited to attend an awards ceremony in central London on 3 March 2004.
