Many UK small business owners are more optimistic about the future and are planning for growth in the next few months.

Over half (58 per cent) of small companies feel positive about the future of their business in the coming months, according to a survey of 2,019 business owners by T-Mobile, with 48 per cent expecting to see some business growth in the next six months.

The findings reveal that 55 per cent of owners believe their company is in a better position to succeed now than it was a year ago, with many preparing to make changes to ensure growth.

Some 31 per cent of small businesses are considering developing new products and services, while 30 per cent may expand their company within the UK.

But the report finds that only 34 per cent of business owners are planning beyond the coming six months.

Tim Campbell, former winner on BBC show The Apprentice and founder of the Bright Ideas Trust, says small businesses have experienced a ‘rough ride’ over the last few years.

He adds, ‘By having the flexibility to adapt to new circumstances and explore new services and markets small businesses can continue to thrive in today’s economy.’
