Businesses have little faith in government

Jun 21 2010

Many SMEs do not believe the coalition government will increase support for businesses.

Only 29 per cent of management accountants say they are confident that the government will do more to help, according to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Ray Perry, executive director at CIMA, says: ‘With an extra £2.4 billion in tax rises due to be unveiled in the emergency Budget, small and mid-size businesses must be wondering if the new coalition government will have their best interests at heart.’

Of the 14,000 management accountants surveyed, 88 per cent feel confident that the business they work for will survive the current economic climate.
