Q: I started a business a year ago and am still making losses. Will a business angel help and how can I find one?

A business angel will only be interested in investing if your business looks like it could be successful. So you will need a proper business plan and forecasts - but you need these anyway for a well-run business. There are various organisations which try to put businesses in touch with business angels.

The services offered can be very simple, a list of names for example, or more involved, such as organising presentations for investors.

You may find it useful to contact the National Business Angels Network (NBAN), which can be reached on www.bestmatch.co.uk, or by phoning 020-7329 2929.
