Q: How can I get funding for a film idea, which I think could be a commercial success?

There are quite a number of sources of finance for film ideas. The Lottery, for example, supports a number of projects, while the UK Film Council (www.filmcouncil.org) – backed by the department for culture, media and sport – operates several funds that may be applicable. Finally, The British Film Institute (www.bfi.org.uk; 020-7255 1444) should be able to offer further advice.

You should also look at venture capital investors and alternative sources of finance. Our sister websites GrowthBusiness.co.uk has a wealth of useful features around venture capital funding.
