Q: Are there any EU grants available for starting a business?

Nov 17 2009

Answered by: Ashley de Safrin     Ask a question

This depends where your new business is based as EU funding is limited to certain areas of the UK.

A good place to find out whether you are eligible for any grants or special loans is the Grants Finder at Business Link.

The European Union Funding Programmes website has details on funding for companies and organisations in Northern Ireland. The European Commission 'Your Europe' site has a section on finance and support which is aimed primarily at small to medium-sized businesses.

More details on these and other UK sources of grants can be found in our own Startup Funding Resource Centre.
