Correct marketing key to businesses

Sep 03 2007

Marketing a small business in the appropriate way is vital to its success, a start-up marketing expert has claimed.

According to Brand New Way, the correct marketing depends on the nature of the enterprise, and both traditional methods and more modern internet marketing can be highly useful.

Commenting on how businesses can attract new customers, Peter Hawtin at Brand New Way says: 'The essence of marketing is delivering the right message to the right people in the right way.

'Therefore, what is the right solution for one business may be different for others, but certainly direct marketing and traditional marketing still have a role to play.'

Stressing the impact of the internet on marketing, he adds: 'Increasingly people are finding the benefits of online marketing, such as emails or newsletters and a tiny number are even more advanced [and are] looking at doing blogs.'

Meanwhile, research by WebTrends suggests that just five per cent of companies see the blog as a valuable tool and only 25 per cent have used the medium.
