Q: I’ve heard about social networks like Myspace, but how can I use them to benefit my business?

Consumers are becoming increasingly adept at using social media services such as eBay, MySpace, Linkedin and Flickr, but the businesses applications of this type of tool have so far been limited or one-dimensional.

BT has recently launched BT Tradespace, which combines a number of social media tools and applies them to business needs – such as partnering, networking, marketing and ultimately selling. We haven’t just created a static online marketplace, we’ve given small businesses the opportunity to interact and engage in real dialogue with their audiences. We believe that this could lead to increased sales, and enable businesses to build relationships with businesses and customers both around the world and in the local area.
