Q: If I want to sell abroad, do I need to register my business in those countries?

Answered by: Ashley de Safrin     Ask a question

This is not a straightforward question to answer since it depends on a number of different issues including:

• The intended end buyer (i.e. are you operating a retail or wholesale operation)
• The type of goods or services you are selling
• The country to which you are exporting

As well as free guidance on UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) offers a service to anyone thinking about exporting.

Whether you're a seasoned exporter or just beginning to expand overseas, talking to UKTI is one of the best moves your company can make.

Through a range of unique services, including participation at selected trade fairs, outward missions and providing bespoke market intelligence, they can help you crack foreign markets and get to grips quickly with overseas regulations and business practice
