Q: Would it be advisable to get a professional company to refine and create a logo, a brand strategy and create a tone and voice for our brand? In other words, develop a visual identity for the company? What is the benefit of this?

The importance of creating a brand identity for your company will depend on the stage of development of your product or company.  If you are still in the product development stage, creating a brand identity may be irrelevant and hiring a professional firm may be an unnecessary expense at this early stage. On the other hand, if your company is preparing to go to market, and is focusing on business development and sales, a clear brand strategy, distinctive logo and professional literature and web presence are essential to communicate the your sales messages and to help differentiate your company from its competitors.
