Q: We have a Home Exchange Holiday service and have been advised to concentrate on the USA market. Can you offer any assistance in future marketing and advertising?

The British Tourist Authority (BTA) has some useful hints. If you check out www.visitbritain.org - industry, you can access research and market profiles specific to the USA.

There are other exhibitions you could go to as well, such as the British Travel Trade Fair, run every year in March. (Update 2011 - this fair has been merged into the Best of Britain & Ireland travel trade fair - http://britainandirelandevent.co.uk)

Green Theme International Home Exchange Holidays, meanwhile, advises you to send out lots of targeted press releases, to use the internet and to look at the enquirer's level of customer service. This is because the enquirer will be running a customer matching service, which will entail quite a lot of negotiating.
