Q: How can I prevent junk mail?

Answered by: Jackie Jarvis     Ask a question

Phone the Mailing Preference Service (020 7921 3319), which is a non-profit organisation enabling consumers to have their names and home addresses in the UK removed from or added to lists used by the direct mail industry. It is free for consumers to register, and you can find out more about the service by going to www.mpsonline.org.uk, or you can email at: mps@dma.org.uk.

Direct mail senders have to check their lists against the register to remove the names of people who have asked to be excluded.
