Q: My office printer isn’t working – I’ve tried the usual things of switching it off and on again plus switching my PC off and on again. What else would you suggest?

There are a number of things that could be wrong with your printer. Firstly you need to establish what type of problem it is – whether it is just not printing, which could indicate a connection problem, or whether the machine is not working. From what you have told us, it appears the machine is not working, and this could be a hardware issue.

Manuals often a have a trouble-shooting section in the back, which could provide you with answers. Alternatively, BT Business offers IT Support Manager, a monthly subscription service that gives all small businesses a dedicated helpdesk, covering hardware, software and things like printers.
