New tool will let businesses cut energy costs

Aug 06 2007

A new postcode-specific pricing comparison tool which promises to help UK businesses save hundreds of pounds each year on their energy bills has been launched.

The energy calculator tool has been launched by independent financial website fairinvestment.co.uk, with the service provided by UKPower, an impartial, Energywatch accredited, utilities price checker.

By taking specific address details into account and working from a list of major national suppliers as well as many smaller, regional firms, James Caldwell, director of Fair Investment Company, insists his site's new energy comparison function can be used to help homes and businesses save hundreds.

'By entering your postcode, current energy supplier and your usage, this tool can help to make sure you get the best price for your energy consumption, and potentially save you hundreds of pounds a year,' he says.

'In an increasingly competitive market, it can be difficult for consumers to know which provider will give them the best deal on utilities, but with this tool it is all there, on the screen, so you can see exactly which deal is going to be best for you.

'And because it is specific to your own postcode, you know the deal is up to date and available.'

The new tool also allows business owners who are concerned with their carbon footprint to compare different energy suppliers on the basis of their green credentials as well as any cost cuts they may provide.
