Q: Any 'helpful' tips for the small business to defend itself, when dealing with no win, no fee lawyers on potential Employment tribunal cases?

Certainly. You may have heard the well-worn phrase: ‘The lawyer that represents himself, has a fool for a client’. The point is that it isn’t just about ‘knowing the law’ it’s also about objectivity and keeping your cool. Both are very difficult in the heat of battle and particularly difficult when it’s personal. So my best advice to you is: Hire a lawyer.
