Dec 10 2010

Recruitment could be on the rise in 2011 Recruitment could be on the rise in 2011

Many businesses plan to hire more staff in 2011 than they did in 2010.

Research from telecoms company Orange among more than 2,000 companies finds that 26 per cent of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) plan an increased recruiting drive next year compared to 8 percent who expect to hire fewer, with 65 per cent keeping headcount the same.

Some 76 per cent predict either the same level of success or a more prosperous year than 2011.

Andrea D’Ercole, managing director of food and wine retailer ItalyAbroad.com says: ‘The findings certainly echo our own plans for next year. We’re planning on hiring more staff and doubling our headcount. Despite the challenging financial climate, this year has been busy for us and our projections for next year are positive.’
