Staff are turning to increasingly desperate tactics to curry favour with bosses and secure pay rises.
Some 58 per cent of employees say they would flatter their boss in order to get a pay rise, with 23 per cent admitting they would claim colleagues’ ideas as their own. A further 32 per cent admit they would create a problem so they could fix it and win respect, according to a survey from The IT Job Board.
Of the 282 employees surveyed, 79 per cent say they would try to gain inside secrets about an organisation and its recruitment process to get a job.
Alex Farrell, managing director of The IT Job Board, says the results reflect increased competition in the jobs market.
