Writing a business plan

You’ll need a comprehensive business plan to focus on exactly where you want to go and how you’re going to get there. A good plan will help you secure support and finance for your venture, prove it has a business case and can therefore work.

Be realistic, even cautious, about the sales you’ll make. If you set your targets too high, you could fail to reach them and you’ll be struggling from the start.

It’s far better if you over-achieve at the beginning rather than the other way around – early success will give you the motivation to go further.

Set out your ideas and plans for the short, medium and long-term. Draw up on going objectives so you can see how you’re progressing and what you’re achieving.
