Reaping the rewards of your thorough planning

Jan 23 2008

For some of you the period running up to Christmas will be the busiest time of the year for your business. Those of you in retail will undoubtedly experience the Christmas rush and will hopefully be reaping the rewards of your thorough planning. Keeping up with demand in busy periods can be as challenging as dealing with the quieter times.

If you feel that perhaps you could have planned better for the busy season, it is a good time to think about putting some measures in place to make running your business easier and more profitable next year. It is important not to forget to take time to reflect upon a year gone by and start thinking about the positive changes you can make.

The team at SmallBusiness.co.uk has produced a number of guides this fortnight to assist you along the way, one of which is aimed at helping you set up card payments for retail or online selling.

Cash flow management is still a major challenge for small businesses, so we’ve also put together some top tips for the new year to help you manage debtors and invoices more effectively. And don't forget our series of downloadable PDFs are available to buy – get the 'Starting A Business' PDF guide by clicking here.
