Post: Staff training

Q) Why do you think training staff is an important process?

Answered by Carolyn Mumby, Employment Law Essentials,

I don’t advocate training for its own sake. Training must be of good quality and should have the objective of preparing people for a situation. Good quality training builds confidence and skills, and in turn improves the quality of outputs and engenders loyalty and a sense of mutual respect as staff quickly realise that they have a future with a company that invests in ‘good quality’.

But, training takes many forms and doesn’t always have to take the obvious form of a ‘course or event’. The most basic form of training can be extremely effective. I believe that I have learned most from rolling up my sleeves and working with experienced people who were willing to pass on the benefit of their experience to me.
