South East Business Awards call

According to new research from the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), 86 per cent of business leaders in the South East of England believe local businesses should support their respective neighbourhoods and play an active part in schools and community projects.

The study captured a snapshot of the current business climate in the South East. More than a fifth of business leaders interviewed said business prospects in the coming six months looked better, largely due to regeneration and building developments while 20 per cent said the forecast was bleaker – partly due to concern about the burden of regulation.

Businesses in the region are being reminded that if they have made an outstanding contribution to the South East they can enter their company into the South East Business Awards.

The awards focus on different aspects of sustainable business and will celebrate companies that put the community at the heart of their operations.

Jeff Alexander, executive director of SEEDA’s Global Competitiveness Division, says: ‘The South East Business Awards will showcase outstanding business achievements so far, enable leading companies to network and share best practice, and provide a benchmark for other businesses in the South East.’
